Custodian: Stunning visuals, gothic imagery and frightening psychology highlight this dark, medieval tale

Stunning visuals, gothic imagery and frightening psychology highlight this dark, medieval tale, written, drawn and animated by Scott Storm, whose last animated short, the critically acclaimed ‘The Apple Tree’, won numerous awards in the indie film festival circuit. Traditional animation lives again!

About The Project

Scott Storm’s recent animated short film, ‘The Apple Tree’, evoked childhood nostalgia and environmentalism; ‘Custodian’ delves into darker, psychological themes like horror, guilt, isolation and the quest for redemption all of us have experienced.

Anti hero Aldus fulfills his gruesome penance by night, dejected and bitter…yet never giving up on the hope that he will one day be given a sign to forgive himself.

Writer/director/animator Scott Storm’s passion project is an independent “one man show” that not only embraces traditional animation in this 3D obsessed era, but highlights just how breathtaking traditional animation can be.

This film will be a gem in a quarry populated by big budget mega studio movies, a reminder of why we must keep indie film alive.  It continues to be a testament to the power of perseverance: as with ‘The Apple Tree’, Scott will balancing this monumental task with raising a family and working long hours.  It is a labor of love, and an inspiration to anyone who has ever had a dream, especially for those of us who are “late bloomers”.

Notably, composer extraordinaire Joe Kraemer (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Jack Reacher) will be providing the original score, as he did with ‘The Apple Tree’.

The funds are sought to allow Scott to take a short sabbatical from his employment in order to concentrate on this film and get a significant headstart on what would otherwise be a multi-year project (while being able to sustain his family – wife and two young sons, one of whom is autistic). Support indie film, indie voices, and the pursuit of a dream!
