Our story

Pyylahti Oy is a company founded in 2001 that produces and imports explosives. We especially produce and import explosives meant for civilian use, which are used for example at quarries and construction sites. Our production facility is located at Kiuruvesi, Northern Savonia, Finland.Our operations cover the whole of Finland and our objective is to offer the best products in the market for as competitive prices as possible. We mainly serve small and medium sized excavation businesses and quarries, that in turn act as sub-contractors for larger construction companies.

To stay on our target and to offer our clients the best possible products on the market as well as thebest service, we have decided to improve our explosives selection. We are currently in the process of obtaining our first Mobile Explosives Manufacturing Unit (MEMU), that enables us to produce emulsion explosives right on site at quarries and construction sites instead of carrying ready to explode materials in sacks to the sites. With this bond we will fund our company’s second MEMU truck.The MEMU truck works practically like a factory on wheels, which improves our company’s service and cost-efficiency. However, MEMU does not at any point carry ready-to-explode material while on the road and the final production of the explosives happens always on-site at the client’s quarry or excavation site.
